Adeleke reassures Osogbo of fairness as governor, receives Ataoja royal blessings

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun state, Senator Ademola Adeleke has reassured the people of the state of fairness and just treatment if elected governor on September 22, declaring that he is on a mission to set the state free from oppressive rule.

Adeleke made the commitment during an unscheduled homage to the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo, HRM Oba Oba Jimoh Olanipekun, in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state.

Like a new bride, Senator Adeleke appearance at Ataoja's palace sparked jubilation, with residents of the state capital thronging on the palace to catch a glimpse of the PDP flagearer, seen by Osun people as the face to liberate them from APC misrule.

For several minutes, the delegation of Senator Adeleke were left in amazement with the outpour of loves and supports thrown at them by the people and eventually got their way into the monarch's palace, where the PDP candidate shared his resoluteness to provide deserved governance to the people as the helmsman of the state.

Senator Adeleke extolled Oba Olanipekun for the progress Osogbo has experienced since he assumed the throne of his forebearer, sharing with the King the progress he has made so far since lunching his bid to the governorship seat.

"Kabiyesi, I am humbled that though our visit was an impromptu one, you welcomed us with an open arm. Osogbo has been very receptive and that is why I feel very much at ease whenever I'm here," he said.

"Osogbo have recorded tremendous progress under your reign and as one of your numerous son's, we are really proud of you. I'm here to personally inform you and seek your royal blessing for the task of rescuing our dear state."

The senator representing Osun west district emphasised that his purpose of seeking the governorship seat is to correct the anomalies of the present APC government, promising an even distribution of resources to every section of the state.

He said his family has a history of providing succor for the downtrodden, assuring that he will ensure amicable and peaceful resolutions of any issues between Ede and Osogbo people.

In his welcome speech, HRM Oba Jimoh Olanipekun who could not hide his joy at the visit of Senator Adeleke, told the delegation that he has heard of the numerous philanthropic gestures of the governorship hopeful in the state and beyond.

Apparently admitting the huge antecedents of the Adeleke family in the state, the monarch showed royal blessings on the PDP governorship candidate and asked him to ensure fair treatment of Osogbo when elected governor.

Though, he conceded the power to install leaders, including Osun state governor to God, Oba Olanipekun however, said royal fathers are concerned about leadership that would transform the lives of the people.

"The antecedents of your family are good and relishing and if it wish God, your current political pursuit will materialize. But you should ensure fairness to Osogbo if you get there because we are capital of the state," Oba Olanipekun said.

The monarch later introduced Senator Adeleke to chiefs and people present as the PDP governorship candidate exchange greetings with the people.
